Waiheke Alpacas Impress at Expo

04/10/2011 17:09

Waiheke Alpacas did consistently well at the 2011 AANZ National Show.
It is the biggest alpaca show in New Zealand with more than 400 entries over three days, attracting exhibitors from farms all over the country.

We were really proud of our show team that we took on a 5 hours trip down to Mt Maunganui. Some of their classes had up to 18 alpacas competing against each other and the quality was extremely high.

  • Waiheke Sundancer: 1st Junior Grey Female Huacaya (Sold at National Auction)
  • Surilana Troubador: 1st Adult Mid Fawn Male Huacaya
  • Wyona Sunberry: 1st Mature Grey Female Huacaya
  • Waiheke Serenity ET: 2nd Junior Light Fawn Female Huacaya
  • Waiheke Notorious ET: 2nd Junior Light Fawn Male Huacaya
  • Waiheke Valentino: 2nd Adult Light Fawn Male Huacaya
  • Waiheke Black Sheik: 2nd Intermediate Black Male Huacaya
  • Waiheke Phenomenon ET: 3rd Intermediate Mid Fawn Huacaya
  • Waiheke Masquerade ET: 3rd Junior Mid Fawn Male Huacaya
  • Waiheke Geronimo ET: 4th Junior Light Fawn Male Huacaya
  • Waiheke Serenity & Geronimo: 1st Place Get of Dam for Silverstream Divinity
  • Waiheke Notorious, Phenomenon & Serenity: 3rd Place Sires Progeny for Benleigh Sancho ET

Every alpaca in our show team was awarded a ribbion except for two males which unfortunately missed their opportunity to be judged because they were entered into darker classes by mistake.

Overall, show results to be very proud of. See us next at Hawke's Bay A&P and Waikato A&P Shows in October.
