Waiheke Show Team Win Multiple Colour Championships at Rotorua Show

01/02/2011 21:07

At the tenth anniversay of the Alpaca section of the Rotorua A&P Show the small Waiheke Alpaca show team were awarded Three Championships and a Reserve Championship spanning both Suri and Huacaya classes.

Exhibiting only three Suri at the Show, Waiheke Alpaca won Champion Fawn Suri with Surilana Troubador in returning fleece, almost taking Supreme Suri against the Champion White. The Judge commenting on Troubadors incredible Lustre, Fineness and Density on a strongly conformed, well grown frame.
The Black Suri Championship was won with the junior male, Waiheke Black Knight pictured left.
Later in the day, Black Knight and his brother Midnight Oil went to compete in Sires Progeny against all colours taking out second place.

In the Huacaya classes, the large extremely competitve White/Light Fawn Championship was won by Waiheke Alejandro ET. We were also very pleased to see him in contention for Supreme Huacaya at such a young age. Alejandro  is young junior male of impeccable breeding by Benleigh Sancho ET and Silverstream Divinity in our Embryo Transfer Program. Watch this space as his siblings will be entering the show circuit progressively throughout the year. Also Waiheke Black Soverign was awarded Reserve Champion Black and finished the day off by placing second with his brother Black Sheik for our elite black stud male Alpacaspecialist Elvis in Sires Progeny.

An outstanding effort all-round!
